Understanding emotions

Many situations and settings can influence our emotions in ways that we don’t fully understand. For some people, a situation may first affect their thinking, which in turn influences the way they act or the physical sensations they experience, and finally they experience specific emotions or feelings. For other people, their automatic behaviour in certain settings may influence physical sensations which result in thoughts and emotions.

Knowing how our thoughts, physical sensations, and behaviour or actions influence our emotions can give us better control over our emotions and overall wellbeing.
